Portfolio Entry: Final Mile Delivery to Iraq!
This project focused on the critical final phase of the supply chain: transitioning bulk barley into branded goods and managing its complex overland journey. We oversaw the packaging, branding, and customs clearance for over 800,000 individual 50kg bags of “ASIL Barley,” ensuring their secure transit from the Iranian port of entry to the final consignee in Sulaymaniyah, Iraqi Kurdistan.
Executing the final mile delivery into a complex region requires nuanced local knowledge and precision. Our task was to transform the discharged bulk barley into a market-ready product and ensure its secure passage to the end-client in Iraq.
We coordinated the packaging of the entire shipment into over 800,000 certified 50kg “ASIL Barley” bags, a crucial step for distribution within Iraq. Following this, we managed the entire customs clearance process at the Iraqi border, navigating specific Kurdish regional regulations to ensure a smooth transition from Iranian to Iraqi freight carriers.
The operation demanded meticulous coordination with local partners and constant communication with the client. Every logistical handoff, from the packaging facility to the final trucking convoy, was meticulously planned and tracked to mitigate risk and ensure transparency throughout the final journey.
